Baltic cruises from the UK

The Baltic Sea is a superb cruise destination from the UK, with its diverse mix of historic capital cities and stunning forested landscapes acting as a perfect introduction to Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Visit Amsterdam, 'Venice of the North' with its winding canals and museums, or Denmark's capital Copenhagen, with the famous Tivoli Gardens, Royal Palace and 'Little Mermaid' the highlights of this clean, vibrant city.

Sweden's beautiful capital, Stockholm, sits on a maze of islands from where you can explore the narrow streets of the 13th century medieval quarter, or visit the Gothic Cathedral of Stokyran. Small and easy to explore is Helsinki in Finland, which retains a nautical feel along with markets teeming with the Finnish delicacies of fish and reindeer.

St Petersburg is one of the highlights of a Baltic Cruise, with many ships staying overnight to allow time to explore its wonders. Visit the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum with its amazing art collection, or take a trip to the awe-inspiring Peterhof Palace.

Tallinn, the medieval capital of Estonia, has a fascinating old town with winding streets, cobbled squares and the spectacular onion domes of the Russian Nevski Orthodox Cathedral.

Many Baltic cruises also visit Warnemunde, the gateway for Germany’s Berlin and an attractive, buystling port in its own right. Or take the trip to Berlin and discover a beautiful city, laden with history and character. Smaller ports of call may include Visby, in Sweden’s Gothland, a delightful medieval walled town, or Latvia and Lithuania.
