Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines - Bolette

Proudly bearing the name of Fred. Olsen Jnr's great-great-grandmother, Bolette harbours an historic connection to the Olsen family. Exuding classic, elegant style in her exterior and interior design, and featuring spacious and comfortable public areas, as well as just 690 cabins, our flagship leads our fleet of smaller ships by example.

She can travel at high speeds, enabling us to reach destinations quicker, meaning our journey planners can craft itineraries that include more visits to ports and places on even our shorter cruises, and more time sailing the most scenic routes.

Bolette provides guests with plenty of space to relax within the bars, lounges, theatres and out on the open decks. Her Crow’s Nest is where you can enjoy the scenic cruising through large panoramic windows. The Auditorium hosts cooking demonstrations as well as specialist enrichment talks and evening movie nights. Up on deck eight, you’ll find our Lido Bar and swimming pool. The retractable roof means you can enjoy a swim year-round, wherever you’re cruising. And of course, with friendly staff providing our typical level of personal, attentive service, there’s an intimate feel to the on board experience too.

Dining

The fine dining experience enjoyed in in the elegant restaurants and dining venues on board our ships is a high point of every Fred. Olsen cruise. There are deliciously-tempting, expertly prepared dishes, from perfectly cooked breakfasts to sumptuous five course á la carte dinners, on offer throughout the day, presented with the personal touch of Fred. Olsen's famously attentive service.

Guests can choose to dine in one of the smaller supplementary dining venues too, or perhaps at the more relaxed buffet restaurant.

The dress code in all restaurants is casual during the day, while the evenings are usually smart-casual, apart from on our fantastic Formal Nights.

Main Restaurant (complimentary)

There's an undoubted sense of occasion to dining in Bolette's main restaurant, a grand two-tiered venue featuring classical, elegant décor and a variety of seating options and table sizes, perfect for both intimate and large group dining.

Colours and Tastes

Colours and Tastes restaurant offers modern Asian Fusion dishes which are a real talking point and food that tastes best when shared. The décor is colourful, the mood cheerful and the food offers a stimulating set of new taste experiences.

Our specialist chefs will create a selection of dishes to share at your table including spiced grilled meats, seafood, gyozas, dim sum and sushi, as well as the classic Chinese and Thai favourites.

Colours and Tastes restaurant is available for dinner in the evenings and bookable in advance.

You can reserve an individual table or, to get a real flavour of Asia, why not join others at our long communal table where you can enjoy your meal with the best of company or “I det beste selskap” as we like to say in our native Norwegian.

Vasco

Vasco (named after the famous explorer Vasco Da Gama who was the first European to reach India by sea) offers a fresh and modern take on Indian food.

The menu has been inspired by our chefs from Goa and focuses on the unique culinary traditions of that area - a place where the tastes of Europe first met the tropical warmth and spices of western India.

Here you can enjoy delicious sea-food, spiced curries and grilled meats, all cooked fresh and to authentic recipes by our Goan chefs.

The bright colours and feel of the restaurant have also been inspired by the warmth and richness of the Goan tradition.

Vasco is a speciality restaurant located near The View on deck 8, midship, and is bookable in advance with our Maître D or Guest Services.

The View

The View restaurant is a wonderful treat created to be just right for the relaxing feel you often want from days away and at sea. It is designed to be easy-going: light, open, with beautiful views of the ocean; no formal dress-codes; no set tables; no standing on ceremony.

Instead, delicious breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and dinners are laid out as the most generous buffet and served to you by our crew. You can come and go as you please and eat whatever takes your fancy. And, when you are feeling peckish in the late evenings, you’ll find The View is open for a delicious late night buffet and bedtime snacks.

Entertainment

On a cruise holiday, we know that your on board experience is just as important to you as the time you spend ashore. That's why we are dedicated to ensuring our entertainment programme is packed with activities and memorable performances that help to create inspirational days and unforgettable nights.

You'll find that there's plenty to keep you entertained during the day on board Bolette, whether you prefer to while away the hours relaxing or engaging your body and mind. The ship's facilities include two swimming pools, two jacuzzis and an impressive spa with a Thermal Spa, Aroma Room, Hydro Pool, two saunas and nine treatment rooms, while there are tennis and basketball courts and a Demonstration Theatre – which hosts fantastic cookery classes and demonstrations – too.

When the lights go down and you settle into your evening, we'll treat you to a selection of live shows ranging from music and cabaret to quick-fire stand-up comedy, all enjoyed in the space and comfort of our stylish lounges and theatres. And, of course, throughout the ship you can sit, relax and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple accompanied by the gentle sounds of live acoustic music.

Show Lounge

Shown here is the ship's main evening show lounge, an impressive two-tiered venue designed to provide each guest the utmost comfort and unspoilt views of the stage during the live after-dinner shows each evening.

Oriental Tea Room

The Oriental Tea Room is our most elegant lounge.

Here everything has been designed with quiet beauty and gentle elegance in mind. The colours are pale and powder-soft, the light is clear and calm, the furnishings are inspired by Chinese silks and rare orchids.

During the day, we serve a refreshing menu of unusual loose-leaf teas from the East and on some afternoons we offer either a delicious afternoon tea together with petit fours and finger sandwiches, or a tea-tasting experience where you can find out about each tea’s story and origin.

In the evenings, join us for a relaxing drink with tea-inspired cocktails like a Mint Julep or Lime & Mint Mar-tea-ni, canapés from Colours and Tastes restaurant and a selection of cold beers including specialities from Japan, Singapore and Thailand.
