Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines - Borealis

Thanks to her ability to cruise at higher speeds than other ships, Borealis – sister ship of our flagship Bolette – is perfectly suited for sailing our longer voyages across the globe. Cruising faster means she can include more stops, scenic discoveries and highlights into each itinerary.

Stylish, spacious and comfortable, with a choice of elegant public areas, restaurants and just 690, she is ideal for Fred. Olsen's style of cruising. On board Borealis you’ll find you’re never overcrowded. There is always ample room in which to indulge yourself in the stylish dining venues, enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple and fantastic entertainment at the bars, lounges and theatres, and while away the hours by the all-season pool.

Borealis fits perfectly into our small ship fleet and, like all our vessels, has her own elegant design touches. Even the pattern and weave of the British-made carpets were hand-chosen by Fred. Olsen Jnr, with attention to the finer details every step of the way.

Accommodation

You’ll find a range of cabins and suites on board Borealis, so you can choose the cabin type, layout and price to suit you and find your perfect home-from-home. We've thought of everything to ensure your time on board with us is as enjoyable, relaxing and carefree as possible.

Dining

Dining in our elegant restaurants and dining venues is a high point of every Fred. Olsen cruise. There are deliciously-tempting dishes – expertly crafted by our chefs – on offer throughout the day, presented with the personal touch of Fred. Olsen's famous on board service.

Aurora & Borealis Restaurants

At the heart of the dining experience on board Borealis are Aurora & Borealis, the ship's elegant and spacious two-tiered main restaurants.

At these venues, delicious five-course, á la carte menus of dishes expertly created, prepared and cooked by our team of chefs are served every evening, whilst dedicated, attentive waiters take care of you. Menus are updated daily and include everything from steaks and seafood to freshly-made soups, pasta and salads. Plus, there are beautiful homemade breads, made overnight in our on board bakery, to enjoy too.

You could opt for flexible dining during your time on Borealis, which allows you the freedom to dine at these venues at any time in the evening, or choose to dine at the same time allocated to you for each evening on your cruise.

An alternative option for guests who prefer a more intimate experience, the Indian Ocean Room offers the same five-course á la carte dining as the main, two-tiered restaurants, but in a smaller, Indian Ocean-themed venue.

Cosy, yet spacious and comfortable, and benefiting from large picture windows, this is the perfect venue for indulging a sumptuous dinner, as well as delicious breakfasts and lunches, whilst enjoying the company of your loved ones, friends and just a few of your fellow guests.

Here you can enjoy delicious sea-food, spiced curries and grilled meats, all cooked fresh and to authentic recipes by our Goan chefs.

The bright colours and feel of the restaurant have also been inspired by the warmth and richness of the Goan tradition.
