There is also the Arctic capital of Tromso, renowned for its cathedral, and Alta where you can experience traditional Sami culture. Some cruise past the magnificent Seven Sisters mountain range before crossing the Arctic Circle.
During the summer months, Arctic Norway is illuminated under the Midnight Sun. This natural phenomenon baths the coastline in vibrant shades of gold, making a cruise at this time of year really special. Cruise lines visit the same ports as on Northern Lights voyages but you are guaranteed a completely different cruising experience during the summer months, as the scenery and wildlife is different to the winter months.
