About Transatlantic Cruises
Westbound transatlantic cruises are extremely popular, departing from Greenwich or Southampton and destined for the bright lights of New York. Some voyages don’t offer any ports of call, whereas others take in the pretty towns and cities of New England in the fall, including Bar Harbor, Maine and Boston.
Many transatlantic cruises from the UK explore the idyllic islands of the Caribbean. Discover Bridgetown, the lively capital of Barbados renowned for its British colonial architecture, and Dominica’s capital, Roseau, with its cobbled Old Market. Saint John is the smallest of the US Virgin Islands and home to an array of wildlife, while Basseterre’s beaches are simply stunning, especially South Friars Bay. Some cruises which take in the sun-drenched Caribbean, also call at Ponta Delgada, the capital of the serene Azores, overlooked by the Gothic church of St Sebastian.
